Sonnet: I just Want to See You Smile

Our hands clasp, as opposite as can be.
My forbidden love, our differences
Are what attract us and what makes us complete.
Your scent invades me. It’s these instances
That cause my mind, heart, and soul to weaken.
Loving you in secret kills me softly,
Unable to stop my eyes from weeping.
I can do this no longer, you’ve lost me.
The cream of your skin draped in the bronze
Of mine will be my lasting memory.
Forget me my love; I’m already gone.
Please tell me if you are hearing me?
I love you too much to see you in pain.
You’ll smile more if I leave than if I remain.
